Special Events Ministry

Our Special Events Ministry provides the opportunity for our church family to spend time together in a fun, hospitable, and friendly environment. Its purpose is to build relationships and unity, be ministered to and have fun outside of our regular weekly activities at the church.
The Special Events Ministry is comprised of a team of dedicated individuals who are responsible for the coordination, planning, design, set-up,
and clean-up for a variety of church-wide events and special projects within the calendar year.  The special events ministry strives to organize fun and
entertaining celebrations that foster growth and fellowship among the members of the Calvary Chapel church family.

This ministry also provides assistance to other church ministries and outreach events.

Serving God by Serving Others

You Belong to Christ - Romans 7:4 says, “You are part of the body of Christ and now you belong to Him in order that we might be useful in the service of God.” God says that the way you know you’re a part of the body of Christ is that you serve others. Serving is the proof of our identity as members of His family.
Created to Serve – Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” There is a place in ministry for everyone.
Servants Heart – The core motivation for the Special Events Ministry is serving. 1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Serving God by Serving Others - Serving others is the way to serve God. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord and not for men. It is the Lord you are serving.” You’re doing it for the Lord. Matthew 25:40 Jesus said, “What you have done for the humblest of My brothers you have done for Me.” He states it positively, “If you feed and clothe others, then you feed and clothe Me. If you haven’t fed and clothed others, you haven’t fed and clothed Me.” The greatest honor is to serve the Lord.

John 12:26, Jesus said, “My Father will honor the ones who serve Me.”

Special Events Leader

Natalie Dorrell

I have been a believer all my life and I was baptized at the age of 12. My husband of 43 years, and myself, have been attending Calvary Chapel Ridgecrest for 38 years.  Together the two of us have served in many leadership and ministry roles including: Sunday School, Women’s Ministry, Vacation Bible School, teaching and leading Bible Studies and Home Groups, just to name a few.  Serving in the Ministry is important to us.  I served in a leadership role within Women’s Ministry for 35 years, prior to taking on the Special Events Ministry for the church in 2022, with Marty as my devoted helper.   Glorifying God by their service, the two have been uniquely gifted in planning and coordinating events that provide opportunity for the church family to spend time together in a fun, hospitable, and friendly environment. The goal of the ministry is to build relationships and unity, by ministering and having fun outside of the regular weekly scheduled activities at the church.  I also teach a weekly Women’s Bible Study on Thursday nights.
